Getting Started with OrdoLink
From installation to your first set of link suggestions in under five minutes.
What is OrdoLink?
OrdoLink is a WordPress internal linking plugin that analyses your published posts and suggests links between them. Instead of manually remembering which articles relate to each other, OrdoLink reads your content and surfaces high-quality linking opportunities - ranked by semantic relevance so you can review and insert the best ones with a single click.
It works in two places: the OrdoLink admin panel (for bulk analysis and a full review table) and the Gutenberg sidebar (for real-time suggestions as you write or edit a post).

Requirements
- ✓WordPress 6.0 or later
- ✓PHP 8.1 or later
- ✓The Gutenberg block editor (classic editor is not supported)
Installation
From the WordPress plugin directory
- In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New.
- Search for OrdoLink and click Install Now.
- Click Activate.
From a .zip file
- Download the latest
ordolink.zipfrom ordolink.net. - Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, upload the zip, and click Install Now.
- Click Activate Plugin.
Automatic setup: When the plugin activates, it automatically registers your site with OrdoLink and configures an API key for you. There is nothing to copy or paste - you can go straight to OrdoLink → Analyze Posts once activation completes.
Verifying the connection
Go to OrdoLink → Settings. The Diagnostics section at the bottom shows a green tick next to Backend Reachable and API Key Configured when everything is working. If either shows a red cross, try deactivating and reactivating the plugin, or contact support.
First-run workflow
Analyze your posts
Go to OrdoLink → Analyze Posts and click Analyze My Posts. OrdoLink reads all your published posts and sends them to the analysis engine. A progress bar shows how far along it is - it usually takes a minute or two depending on how many posts you have.
Review suggestions
Once analysis finishes you are taken to OrdoLink → Suggestions. Each row shows a source post, the anchor text to use, the target post it should link to, a relevant excerpt from the target, and a match quality score. Higher scores mean stronger semantic relevance.
Insert or dismiss
Click Insert Link on a suggestion to add it directly to the source post - no editing required. The anchor text is matched in the post content and wrapped in a link automatically. If a suggestion isn't a good fit, click Dismiss to archive it. Not every suggestion needs to be inserted, see our guide to link density for a sense of how many is too many for a given post.
Write with the Gutenberg sidebar
When editing any post, open the OrdoLink sidebar panel (in the block editor's right-hand panel). It shows live link suggestions for the post you're working on - click any suggestion to insert it without leaving the editor.
Upgrading your plan
The Free plan lets you analyse up to 100 posts. When you need more capacity, go to OrdoLink → Billing inside your WordPress admin. The page shows your current usage and lists available upgrade tiers. Click an upgrade button to be taken to a secure checkout - once payment completes your limits are updated automatically.

FAQ
Where does OrdoLink store my content?
Post titles, URLs, and plain text extracted from your posts are sent to the OrdoLink service at ordolink.net for analysis. The original HTML and raw post content stay in your WordPress database. The API key field is empty after activation - what do I do?
Provisioning happens in the background when the plugin is activated. If the key field is blank, the activation request may have timed out. Try deactivating the plugin and reactivating it. If it is still empty, contact support and include the debug report from the Diagnostics section.
Can I use OrdoLink on multiple sites?
The Free plan covers one site. Starter and higher plans include multiple sites - each installation gets its own API key provisioned automatically on activation.
I cloned my production site to a staging environment and now I see a warning banner.
OrdoLink detects when the site URL changes and warns you to avoid mixing staging and production data. On your staging site, deactivate and reactivate the plugin - it will provision a fresh key tied to the staging URL. Your production site is unaffected.
How do I completely remove OrdoLink?
Deactivate the plugin, then click Delete. OrdoLink also provides an uninstall routine that removes all stored settings and data from your WordPress database when you delete the plugin through the WordPress admin.
